Check-in is from 3:00 PM. We use simple self check-in: on the day you arrive, you'll get a message with your lockbox code. Open the lockbox at the check-in station to get your room key, then your key opens your room. Keep your key/key card with you during your stay, and return the key card to the key drop box at check-out — a missing key card may incur a $35 replacement fee. If you received park passes, please return any unused passes with your key card.
Your arrival message includes the exact entrance, where to park, and the lockbox-station location. If anything isn't working, call us at (276) 293-9540 or email [email protected].
Check-out is by 11:00 AM. On your way out: return your room key to the key-drop at the check-in station, pop trash in the designated area, leave used towels in the bathroom, turn off the lights, and pull your door closed. No need to strip the bed — we'll take care of the rest. Need a little longer? Just ask and we'll do our best.
Free guest Wi-Fi is available throughout the Inn. Your network name and password are in your arrival message and posted at the check-in station. Cell signal can be spotty in the river valley — Wi-Fi is your best bet for calls and streaming.
Free parking is available out front. Your arrival message includes the entrance and where to park.
Each of our ten rooms is individually appointed with period furnishings and a private bath. Every room includes a TV, microwave, small refrigerator, in-room coffee, and light toiletries (basic shampoo & conditioner). Rooms are kept comfortable for the number of guests on the reservation. For multi-night stays, housekeeping is weekly or on request — just let us know.
Need extra bedding? We have very limited extra-bedding availability, so please ask us before you arrive and we'll confirm what we can provide.
A complimentary self-serve continental breakfast and fresh coffee are available each morning from 7:00 to 9:00 AM in the breakfast area. Grab-and-go friendly if you're headed out early to the trail.
Dining note: The Inn does not currently operate an on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner. Alongside breakfast, a small shopette offers drinks and light goods — and we're happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local dining options.
Riding the New River Trail or planning a river day? Guests may be able to coordinate local bike or river shuttles through nearby outfitters such as New River Outdoor Adventures in Galax (a local provider — by reservation, subject to availability; pricing set by the provider and subject to change). The Inn does not operate the shuttle service. Confirm routes, pricing, and water/weather conditions directly with the provider: newriveroutdooradventures.com/shuttles.
You're right on the New River Trail — a flat, scenic 57-mile rail-trail along the New River, great for biking, walking, and horseback riding. Foster Falls is one of the trail's main hubs.

What time is check-in / check-out? Check-in from 3:00 PM (self check-in); check-out by 11:00 AM.
Can I check in early or check out late? Sometimes — just ask and we'll do our best based on the day's schedule.
How do I get into my room? A lockbox code (sent in your arrival message) gives you your room key at the check-in station.
Is breakfast included? Yes — a complimentary self-serve continental breakfast and coffee each morning, 7:00–9:00 AM.
Do you allow pets? We don't allow pets, but service animals are always welcome.
Can you add a rollaway or extra bed? Availability is very limited — please ask before booking and we'll confirm what we can provide.
Is there Wi-Fi? Yes, free — network and password are in your arrival message.
What's your cancellation policy? A credit card is required to book, but your card is not charged immediately. You may cancel without charge until 12:00 a.m. local time two calendar days before your arrival date (for a Friday arrival, that's midnight at the start of Wednesday). At that deadline the full reservation balance, including applicable taxes, is charged and becomes non-refundable. Cancellations after the deadline and no-shows are non-refundable. See full policy.
